# IBM Deskstar hard drives FirmWare 2.31 (A45A). if the firmware level indicated by the identification utility is A45A, you will need this firmware update.
# This firmware update has been developed to improve hard drive stability and the SMART offline data collection process. It is part of our ongoing commitment to improve hard drive quality.
# To assist in updating the firmware, the update program will search for every hard drive connected to the system (Primary Master, Primary Slave, Secondary Master, Secondary Slave), and will install the new firmware on every IBM Deskstar Hard Drive that requires it.
# NOTE: Do not power off or restart your system while the firmware of your hard drive is being updated. Doing so might cause permanent damage to your hard drive. In addition, make sure you back up the data in your hard drive prior to starting the firmware update. |
